Marcia Susan Andrews passed away on September 22, 2005 in Napa, California at the age of 59.
Marcia grew up in Napa, graduating from Napa High School and briefly attending Napa Valley College. She then lived in Louisiana, Virginia, Colorado, and Washington state before returning to Napa in 1979.
She worked at various administrative positions before settling in at Robert Mondavi Winery in the mid-1980s. In the nearly 20 years she worked there, Marcia was known for her warmth, quick mind, and her giving, cheerful nature. Marcia endeared herself to all who knew her.
Over the course of her life, Marcia volunteered her time to various charities, including the Salvation Army and the Special Olympics. She was an outstanding dancer, able to master any style. She also enjoyed popular novels and non-fiction, dining out, and tending to her garden.
Marcia's irresistible smile and affectionate way will be missed most and remembered longest by both her immediate and extended family.
Marcia is survived by her significant other Ron Diemoz, her mother, two children, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcia was my best friend later in life. I met her in 1963. We were married in 1964 and though we didn't stay married, we were special close friends untill we lost her. I miss her every day, as does my present wife who loved her as much as anyone.

Marcia grew up on E Street with her older brothers Jim and Phil. I grew up a block away on F Street. My brother Jim (who just passed away last week) and I, along with the Brovelli kids down the block from us and just over the fence from the Andrews, made up the neighborhood play group. I fondly remember making Kool Aid popsicles on hot summer days with Marcia, using toothpick handles in the lever-action aluminum ice cube trays that are now icons of the era. Though we were pals as kids, we went our separate ways after high school, and I only saw her once in the years since. I was truly sorry to learn she left us so soon.

For Bill Crowley:
Bill -- Marcia was truly one of the finest people I ever knew. Evidence is that after we were divorced, we remained friends. I can say BEST friends too. Further, the first thing I did when I realized I wanted to marry my current wife, I took her up to meet Marcia. I figured I wasn't willing to take it any further if my relationship with Marcia was going to be a problem. Five minutes after we walked in, Marcia and Barb (my wife) became instant best friends. They kicked me aside like an old shoe, LOL. When Marcia died, Barb took it worse than I did. We miss her daily and both of us express our love for her openly to each other often and share moments we had together with her often to other friends.

That's a very sweet memorial, Hub.
