Frank Yvon Deal Jr. passed away on April 29, 2014 in Fallon, Nevada at the age of 70.
Frank was born in Napa and attended Napa schools. At Napa High School, his nickname was 'Big Deal' -- which actually came to be. After high school, Frank joined the U.S. Army and served six combat tours of duty in Vietnam. He was decorated for Valor. The 'V' devise signifies "participation in acts of heroism involving conflict with an armed enemy." Frank was truly one of our local heroes.
At the time of his passing, Frank lived in Fallon (population 8,600), the county seat of Churchill County, Nevada.
Frank is survived by his wife Joyce Deal, four sons, two daughters, 22 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Marilon.
A memorial service with military honors was held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield, California.
