Kathleen 'Kathy' Wiloth (Grigsby)

Kathleen 'Kathy' Wiloth (Grigsby)

Kathleen 'Kathy' Gail (Wiloth) Grigsby passed away on September 22, 2017 in Napa, California at the age of 73.

Kathy was born in Napa and grew up on the family farm on Big Ranch Road.  She loved the outdoors, was a bit of a tom boy, and  enjoyed helping her dad harvest tomatoes and prunes.

At a high school dance, Ed Grigsby asked her to dance to the Johnny Mathis song 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.'  She was 15 and he was 16.  They went on to date all through high school, going for rides in the cars that Ed would fix up, and stopping by the Wright Spot for a coke.  Ed graduated in 1961, Kathy in 1962, and they were married in 1963.

Kathy will be remembered as a vivacious, happy-go-lucky spouse, mother, grandmother and friend who loved life, exuded warmth, and brought joy to all with her wonderful sense of humor.  As she wrote in the mini-yearbook for the 20th Reunion in 1982, as to what she had been doing the past twenty years, she simply said, "Having a good time."

She liked competitive sports, including adult co-ed soccer and kick-boxing.  She enjoyed her walks around town with Ed.  She loved spending time with her husband, her children, her children's friends, her grandchildren, and her grandchildren's friends.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 54 years, two children, and four grandchildren.

Kathy was a lovely young woman. We visited their home when we were both young couples...either before Jim went to Vietnam Nam or just after. They were very gracious and just so nice. I am sure many people have fond memories of her.
